"Okay, okay. Er, let's park her up over there. Looks friendly enough."

After what seems like an eternity but in reality is actually about six months, our crowning cartoon is finally completed! Of course, it's hardly six months work.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

It all started some time in February (Or quite possibly even January) when my bestest pal ~capers was taking a week off work with the sickness and I at that time was still unemployed so I suggested that we get together and create a short cartoon, one that we could start and finish within that week, or maybe a couple more. The first day we wrote the script, recorded the voices and a little music.

Then he went back to work. Then I got a job. Then he got a new job. Then he got a gig. Then he went on holiday. Then I went on holiday. Then I moved departments at work. And everything fell by the wayside.

It was always supposed to be short and easy, you'll notice the camera focussing on the silent character now and then to avoid having to do lots of mouth animation, but we were a little ambitious with both the length and complexity of the whole thing so it all got a little out of hand.

ABOUT THE CARTOON

It all started in Physics class at college. Tracker, with his new found abilities constructed a paper yacht and named it "The Curious" before making tiny paper versions of the two of us to man the helm. Later he drew a single panel comic with the line presented at the top of this description, which is essentially the core of this cartoon. (The original comic was at a different angle: the viewer saw from behind Tracker's head with the island off in the distance, I then used animation to offer a more dynamic punchline.)

ABOUT THE MUSIC

The entire score for this cartoon was once again conceived and composed by my partner-in-the-arts:



That guy has talent coming out the wazoo and every time he sends me a new piece of music I love it to bits and couldn't have hoped for a better sound guy. So please, remember the part he had in this. Not just in the music, but he did all his own voice and co-wrote it so send him your regards.
