Considered the single reason Parodius was never released in America; what with the conecpt being the shoot the hell out of him untill all of his feathers fall off. Understandable in some respects, but not when you consider there's just as much parody of Japanese culture in these games. Moreso, even. When they finally released the combo pack they had "sucessfully" made him suitable to American players by removing the blue band and stars from his hat and making him BRIGHT GREEN. Always a favourite of mine, the sign pops out of his hat when you strike him (It seems to read "yori" which means "from" which baffles me) and it's on a piece of official art that shows it being held by a small penguin inside his hat which I thought was a nice touch so I included it here. |

Wonder if he was in Sexy Parodius...
There's a boss rush "bonus" level in which you fight four old bosses and one new one, and this fellow was right there in the thick of it.
They released Parodius in Europe all right, with the eagle boss in completely un-modified glory. That probably sais something about Europeans and Americans... Damned if I know what, though.
Awesome job. This is worth a fave and a +watch, pronto.
