PARODIUS: Vic Viper by professorfandango PARODIUS: Vic Viper by professorfandango
Vic Viper, pilot ship of the original Gradius, is the only character to be playable in every Parodius shooter and retains the original weapon loadout from that game.
Unfortunately that makes him quite a boring character and I can't really remember the last time I used him. But here's some interesting things:-!

Vic gets cartoonified for Parodius and in the SNES documentation this is attributed to eating "too much homemade sweetcakes" and changing shape. It also mentions its new "shuffle-step missile that wears basketball sneakers" and is accompanied with an image of Vic Viper with eyes. Even as late as Sexy Parodius ol' Vic is sometimes given arms and/or legs though these are of the Koitsu/stickman variety.
By combining all this personification (despite a couple of sources claiming Vic has a pilot) I decided a nice pair of retractable Twinbee legs would look nice.

Then there's Lord British, perhaps one of the most overlooked Parodius characters? He's from a Gradius spinoff which makes him an appropriate second player but it's nice to see a little bit of pseudo-representation for Blighty.

I personally find Lord British the MetaKnight-equivalent of (JikkyOshaberi) Parodius: so broken that the game suffers!!! He's just too good with that weapon set he has in that game! (Apparently a beefed-up Salamander/Life Force-set)

I find Vic quite balanced (he's kinda like Mario) but he feels indeed bit boring in a setting where penguins or lips and so worth try to kill you.

Those Twinbee-legs don't look out of place for Vic, I dig!

I never really experimented with Lord British much, but I can see why he might be quite strong. I'll have to give him another go!
