I tried to add one new character to each existing franchise wherever possible and I felt that Adeleine was the only character that was eligible from Kirby. Sure Waddle Dee is a "character" nowadays and playable in Kirby's Adventure Wii but he already exists as part of Dedede's moveset and as a "standard enemy" I don't think he really has a place. Granted Adeleine has only appeared in two games (Yes I think they're the same person) but she's a very interesting character - not only is she the only human character in the entire Kirby saga but she can make direct reference to other characters that deserve a bigger role but have no way of being playable:
Paint: Derived somewhat from Kirby's Paint ability, and also the paint can in Kirby's Air Ride this glob of colour will blind an opponent, momentarily reversing their controls. Useful for edge guarding! Co Kracko: For a while my Adeleine moveset involved concepts from Power Paintbrush and made up stuff, but since her whole deal is painting things which come to life I felt this was a good idea. Here she paints a Co Kracko which floats sideways slowly before dissipating. Dynachick: For her recovery she paints a Dynachick and clings onto it as it flutters her to safety and disappears. Whispy Woods Jr. Painting it on the ground, the sprout erupts from the ground, dealing damages and launching upwards. These three attacks take three well known Kirby bosses (who are too cumbersome to be playable) and transposes them into attacks. Of course for the sake of downscaling, young versions of the bosses (all of which are actual enemies) are used. Mr. Bright & Mr. Shine: These two haven't been around much lately and even in their early appearances they only used this attack once - a shame since it was the most interesting weapon in their arsenal. Adeleine paints copies of the sun and moon monsters who then leap into the sky. Mr. Bright remains static and Mr. Shine stays on an orbital path around him, but also following Adeleine. After a few moments Mr. Bright overheats wildly and engulfs the entire field in flames! The only safe patch is the shadow that Mr. Shine casts directly over Adeleine so in those brief moments any opponents will have to try to fight their way into the shade.
"Various Japanese sources imply that they're different characters, but we're not going to tell you which ones because it might be detrimental to our slapdash image."
Regardless, she really needs more attention and appearances, soon. Her character is just so intriguing!
Love the portrait and the little stick ones as well. Fantastic moveset.
A+
