G'DAY RINSO

Now there's a background with some chest hair. And it's about damn time.

If you didn't already know, I am a huge Discworld* fan and a while back I tried my hand at a few of the characters, but this was the only one I finished.

Rincewind has become the mascot of the series (of novels, if you're not following so far) and is not only a tremendous coward, but the Disc's most inept wizard (he can't even spell it properly.)

Rincewind isn't actually my favourite character. Obviously he's very high up the list, along with The Librarian and Death, who are probably the three most popular anyway, but I had fun drawing him.

I actually took inspiration from both Josh Kirby and Paul Kidby with the design, while attempting to infuse it with a little of my own style (and I had originally drawn him in boots when The Discworld Companion reminded me that he has more recently taken to wearing sandals since they are more convenient when running away from things.)

The background is a Map of Discworld, and was made using the polygonal lassoo on a map stolen from the internets. I'll probably use it if I ever get around to any other characters.


*Which I continue to keep misspelling as "Discoworld."
